Top 10 Albums of 2013 – Nick

Holy shit this one was tough. . Year after year the bands we know and love put out album after album and it seems to me that the albums keep on getting better. This year was especially hard, first of all there were just a LOT of strong albums released and I don’t mean from just the bands you expect to put out solid records, I mean a lot of new up and coming bands have been putting out really phenomenal records. . Good enough to compete with the big dogs. Sometimes for me it is hard to stop at just 10 and its especially hard to put them in any order so we are just gonna go with the flow on this one.

A good handful of these seem to be solo albums by the way which is always pleasant 🙂

1. Ihsahn – Das Seelenbrechen
2. The Ocean – Pelagial
3. Soilwork – The Living Infinite
4. Ghost – Infestissumam (Tied with Fleshgod Apocalypse – Labyrinth)
5. Leprous – Coal (Tied with Dillinger Escape Plan – One Of Us Is The Killer)
6. Devin Townsend Project – The Retinal Circus (Live album) (Tied with Steven Wilson – The Raven That Refused to Sing (And Other Stories))
7. Rotting Christ – Kata Ton Daimona Eaytoy
8. Revocation – Revocation
9. Rob Zombie – Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor
10. Falkenbach – Asa
11. Byzantine – Byzantine
12. Hypocrisy – End of Disclosure
13. KENmode – Entrench
14. Finntroll – Blodsvept
15. Kvelertak – Meir
16. October Tide – Tunnel of No Light
17. Arsis – Unwelcome
18. Hacride – Back to Where You’ve Never Been
19. Gorguts – Colored Sands
20. Kalmah – Seventh Swamphony

And I mean that’s just going through the list of most. . there are still plenty that were released but I’ll be damned if I add every CD that was released that I like. . but I would say the top 10 yes those stand true!!
