Flashback Friday: Static-X and SOiL @ Mississippi Night (08/01/2004)

This show sticks out in my mind among the hundreds – eh, who am I kidding… thousands – of shows that I’ve gone to over the past 13 years because it was one of the only shows that I had the privilege to see at the cozy riverfront abode known as Mississippi Nights. During its 27 years in operation, the club hosted several household-name bands now considered legends, such as Pantera, the Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blag Flag, Suicidal Tendencies and the only show Nirvana ever played in Saint Louis in 1991. The venue closed its doors in 2007 and was demolished to make way for Lumiere Place, a new casino development on the  Saint Louis Riverfront. The last show was held on January 19, 2007 and featured hometown favorites The Urge as they played for FIVE hours.
